Early years foundation stage
As part of our EYFS Unit, we have a 26 place Nursery class for 3 and 4 year olds. This meets the Government’s commitment to 15 hours of free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds.
3 and 4 year old children attend our Nursery from 8:55am – 11:55am every day during term-time.
We also offer afternoon places in addition to our morning sessions. You may get 30 hours of free childcare a week through the Free Childcare for Working Parents scheme (check Gov.uk), or there is the option of paid afternoon places, please contact our office for further information.
Children can attend Nursery from the term after their third birthday until they join a Reception class.
Our admission criteria for our Nursery class is outlined below:

- Date of application (parents can apply for a Nursery place from the child’s second birthday)
- Date of birth
- Distance from home to school
Our Nursery is well resourced and led by highly skilled staff, so the children thrive in our provision and are well-prepared to start school in Reception.
We provide a wide and interesting curriculum within a happy, nurturing, safe and stimulating environment.
We work hard to develop partnerships with our parents so that we have a full understanding of each child’s needs.
A positive start to learning in our early years setting builds a strong foundation for your child’s progress and readiness for more formal learning in school.
